Celebrating 30-20-10 Years! Partners in Development
Significantly impacting the lives of those in need in the Dominican Republic is
not a task one organization can take on by itself. Our collective efforts have
raised millions of dollars and touched tens of thousands of lives.
Please join us to celebrate our achievements as we begin a new decade of service. The Dominican Foundation is turning 20 this year; our partners, the
Instituto Dominicano de Desarrollo Integral (IDDI) celebrates 30 years; and the
Cigar Family Charitable Foundation turns a decade old this year.
El Instituto Dominicano de Desarrollo Integral (IDDI)
is celebrating its 30th anniversary! Based in Santo Domingo, IDDI is the primary non-profit
organization in the Dominican Republic created to fight poverty and make a
difference in the lives of the poor. With its humble beginnings of seeking to
provide clean water and sanitation in the poorest barrios of Santo Domingo,
IDDI has grown as a recognized leader in international development.
The Dominican Foundation
is celebrating its 20th anniversary! An all-volunteer
run non-profit organization, founded in 1994 by a group of individuals from
the United States and the Dominican Republic. Its’ mission is to raise
awareness and funding to support the critical development initiatives of IDDI
that will impact the poor of the Dominican Republic.
Cigar Family Community Project
is celebrating its 10th anniversary! Founded
by the Fuente and Newman families, with the intention of providing children of
the cigar producing region of the Dominican Republic with a place to
attend school. From this small initiative developed an entire complex which
now includes an elementary and secondary school, health center, kitchen,
sports facility and an ever-growing list of programs and services offered to the
surrounding communities. In partnership with IDDI, this project has become
one of the best examples of corporate social responsibility in the Dominican
Republic, recognized by the United Nations.
