Major League Baseball Dominican Development Alliance

The MLB-DR Baseball Family, developed by the MLB -Dominican Development Alliance and the Dominican Foundation, the prime US fundraising nonprofit for this initiative, is an exciting initiative to involve baseball fans and teams in having an impact on the game and communities in the Dominican Republic.

Every baseball fan, professional or amateur baseball player, major or minor league baseball team, little league team, manager, coach or owner, are all part of the Baseball Family.  While it is true that baseball sometimes seems like a landscape of competitive rivalries and unwavering team loyalties - we are united as one family in our devotion to the game of baseball.  The MLB-DR Baseball Family is united by a devotion to baseball and a passion to transform lives and communities in the Dominican Republic.

Currently, we are working with your local teams to develop a MLB-DDA Baseball Family Leadership Society in your community and will be recruiting dedicated, compassionate, baseball fans and community leaders who want to help their local team’s have a positive impact on the Dominican Republic. Nearly every Major League Baseball team operates a baseball academy in the Dominican Republic, thus becoming part of the local landscape, culture and society.
Baseball Family Leadership Societies will be...

• Assist in identifying team’s initiatives in local communities
• Work closely with Team leadership
• Attend quarterly meetings
• Develop and Manage promotional events and activities to raise funds and generate awareness of community activities in the Dominican Republic
• Be invited to attend a Baseball Family Celebration in the Dominican Republic in late 2009.
