The Dominican Foundation works with international corporations in the United States interested in giving back to the Dominican Republic. We assist them in developing a Corporate Social Responsibility program that ties their company's mission statement into a development initiative in the Dominican Republic, while also providing these companies a US tax exemption.

The Dominican Foundation understands the importance of the private sector and the impact it can have on long-term sustainable development of the Dominican Republic. Currently, there are 37,000 multinational corporations with only 500 corporations controlling 70% of international trade. Many multinational corporations have an annual income greater than the GDP of several small-to-medium sized countries. Today, we must enter into a new social contract between governments, private companies and civil society.

Get Your Company Involved: Let us help your company design a program or initiative in the Dominican Republic using the expertise of IDDI. Recently we have helped the J.C. Newman Cigar Company and Tabacalera Fuente develop the Cigar Family Charitable Foundation. Over the past two years, this foundation is responsible for the development of a 46-acre community complex in the rural area of Bonao. The complex includes a new school, high school, health clinic, youth sports center, organic farming project, multi-purpose room, and more.

Company Sponsored Volunteer Project: We can help your company organize a group of your employees to participate in a company sponsored project in the Dominican Republic. Want to reward your employees with a fantastic week in the Dominican Republic while also illustrating your company’s commitment to the world community? We can develop a one-week program for your company that will involve repairing a school, planting trees, etc. while incorporating time for rest and relaxation at one of our beautiful beaches. The great news is that it is also tax-deductible.
